Sunset & Stars

Sunset and Stars is a favorite activity of Director, Bruce Johnson. We meet at the Cuchara Community Center to drive to Cordova Pass. At the pass, the group does the usual “circle up” to introduce ourselves before hiking about 3/4 of a mile to a grand overview of our Cuchara valley and beyond. We have time to meet new friends, enjoy a picnic and check out a wonderful sunset. As the sky grows dark, stars begin to pop out. A quick and simple astronomy lesson will be given so that you might be able to take your knowledge home with you. We walk back to the Cordova Pass parking lot with the help of flashlights. A  unique experience to say the least!
