Cuchara Valley Recreation Program

A moderately difficult hike for all ages.   Approximately 4 miles round trip, we hike to a beautiful ridge with a great view of the valley and the neighboring mountains for lunch.  We start on the jeep road to Trenchera.  This part is mostly up hill and the most difficult part of the hike.  We then break off the jeep road and head out on the trail to our lunch spot.  We usually find a lot of wild strawberries along the trail which are always a big hit among the group.  It can be cool and windy at our lunch spot atop the ridge so remember to bring layers!
